Notice on Postponement of ISSNP2012Dear Authors,
A premium international conference, the International Symposium on Symbiotic Nuclear Power Systems for 21st Century (ISSNP), aims to explore development of advanced nuclear technologies and ensure its alignment with development in human society and environment. The conference has become one of the most prestigious international gatherings in nuclear science and engineering in Northeast Asia and has won growing attention from experts and scholars from all over the world. The event is convened annually on a rotating basis in China, Japan and South Korea.
ISSNP2012 is co-sponsored by the Harbin Engineering University (HEU) and the China Guangdong Nuclear Power Holding Corporation, Ltd. (CGNPC). As planned, it is scheduled to take place on October 23-26, 2012 in Shenzhen. To date, the technical committee has collected over 90 papers, among which 50% are from overseas. The Organizing Committee has invited about 10 prestigious experts from foreign nuclear power organizations and institutes to deliver keynote speeches and topical presentations.
Upon evaluation of the tensions caused by the Diaoyu Island situation, the Organizing Committee has concluded that, at this point in time, there is a distinct lack of enabling external atmosphere for the ISSNP2012 to go ahead as scheduled.
In recognition of the above, the Organizing Committee regrets to announce its decision to postpone the ISSNP2012 until further notice.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to all the experts and scholars from both home and abroad for their kind support of ISSNP2012, and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the above postponement. We are looking forward to welcoming you to attend the rescheduled ISSNP2012 in due course to initiate in-depth discussions on the harmonious development of nuclear power once the Diaoyu Island tension eases off.

大会延期通知
21世纪和谐核电系统国际会议（International Symposium on Symbiotic Nuclear Power Systems for 21st Century, ISSNP）是以发展先进的核电技术、并使之与人类社会及环境协调发展为目的大型国际会议。ISSNP国际会议已经成为东北亚核能科学与工程领域有影响力的高水平国际会议，日益得到国内外专家和学者的关注，并形成了由中日韩三国轮流举办的体系。
“第五届21世纪和谐核电系统国际会议（ISSNP2012）” 由哈尔滨工程大学和中广核电集团公司联合承办，原定于2012年10月23-26日在广东深圳举行。通过大会技术委员会的前期工作，会议已经收集大会论文90余篇，其中海外论文约占半数。大会还邀请了国外核电组织和学术机构的10余名知名专家和学者进行大会报告和专题报告。
但令人遗憾的是，由于钓鱼岛紧张局势的影响，大会组委会经过认真评估认为：目前ISSNP2012国际会议缺少良好的外部氛围 ，会议难以达到预期的效果。 经大会组委会商议，决定ISSNP2012国际会议延期举行，具体会议时间另行通知。
